Many of you may not know that this site existed for purposes of chat long before the demise of the NPGMC. A few hours after the lights went out, I (BluOracle) created / added the Forums you see now. At the time, I mentioned that there would be extremely limited locking / deleting of threads. Since that time, I have received the full "Terms and Conditions" of our Host Server, which specify what can and can not be permitted in the communities created on it.

Those terms and conditions also include what actions are expected to be performed by Administrators and Moderators in a community to enforce the Host's rules. Those actions include the locking and/or deleting of individual posts or entire threads, AND the banning of persistent offendors. Failure to comply with these conditions would result in our Host server shutting us down, as they hold the Site Admin solely responsible for these offenses.

So, as with any community anywhere in the offline world, we will have rules and consequences. Therefore, I separate this message into two areas. First, the content and actions we cannot allow under our Hosts terms and conditions. Second, the manner in which we will enforce those rules, as well as other information we feel is necessary for everyone to enjoy their time here at NPG Underground.

WHAT WE CAN NOT PERMIT

Our Host specifically prohibits:

Spam links to your own or other websites.

Posting of any information connected to legally prohibited content.

Pornography or pornographic links.

Hatred; racism, homophobia and religious hate, will not be tolerated.

Engaging in any illegal activity including pyramid schemes, timeshare scams, etc.
There are other minor infractions, but we will address those if / when they occur.

How This Affects You:

Three Strikes
We will not permit Members to engage in the activites listed above. Whenever Members violate the rules set forth by the Host Server—or those of the site Administrator which are listed below—they will receive a written warning in open Forum and PM.

On the first two offenses, you will receive warnings from Moderators asking you to stop the prohibited behavior. Upon the third offense, you will be banned by an Admin and the reason for your banning listed in the offending Forum.

No one will be banned without knowing why, or without having an opportunity to correct themselves.

Members may not post information or links to sites that promote the distribution and/or sale of legally prohibited recordings (bootlegs) and/or other copyrighted materials. Any such posts will be deleted and a warning will be given. Members who repeatedly post such material will be permanently banned. If this seems unfair, please confine such conversations to PMs, which are unmonitored.

While edited adult content will be permitted, soft and hard core pornography will not. Moderators will delete pornographic materials. Under no circumstances will material (written or visual) which depicts minors in sexual situations for the purposes of entertainment be permitted. Such material will be deleted.

PM stands for "Private Message." At no time are private messages to be copied and posted in open Forums.
If you receive harassing or threatening PMs, please forward them to an Admin (BluOracle, Toni) or any of the Moderators. The Moderators will, at the very least, contact the offending Member, but in every case, take whatever action is deemed appropriate under the circumstances.

You may not enter Chat or Forums using another Member's identity, or that of a Paisley Park Mod. We consider it a form of identity theft and a very serious offense. For that reason, passwords / logins will be added to Chat.

Conflicts will arise and, for the most part, we would hope you would resolve them among yourselves. However, in keeping with the Host's guidelines, you may not engage in threatening behavior. This includes: cyber-stalking, threats of violence or menacing harassment.

ENFORCEMENT

While Moderators will enforce the rules as outlined, no Member will be banned by an individual Moderator at any time. 3 Strike bans will occur only after a majority vote by Moderators. In an emergency, a banning may occur without 3 strikes. While this is an extreme situation, a majority vote will still apply.

Strike 1 - May be given by whichever Moderator witnesses the violation, regardless of Forum.

Strike 2 - May be given ONLY by a Moderator of the Forum where the 2nd violation occurs.

Strike 3 - Will be given ONLY by Admin at time of banning.

If you feel that you have received a warning unnecessarily, you may PM an Admin (see links above) with an explanation and a request for review. You will receive a decision from the Moderators within 7 days of your request.
